When Elian's father sent him to the Isle of Man to buy the site for another of the Jolly Jack Jones Holiday Camps, he soon found himself involved in a lot more than business details. He was far more interested in the curious family at Glencummal Farm — the objectionable, overbearing father, the selfish daughter-in-law, and most of all that girl Voirrey, the Cinderella of the entire family. Why did she persist in making herself such a doormat for them all — especially as she could and should have been leading such a different life ? Elian was not the man to see himself cast as Prince Charming, but he could not stop himself from acting the role.
