The social media content that students—and their future employers—need to have. This is the first social media marketing textbook that focuses on showing students how social media fits into the marketer's toolbox.
This text covers four zones of social media, which aren't mutually exclusive. There are applications that provide a way for marketers to attain two, three, and maybe even all four objectives. Each of the four zones cover: Community (Facebook); Publishing (Blogs); Commerce (GroupOn); and Entertainment (Farmville).
In terms of social media, some organizations question whether they need the "old school" platforms at all—especially when they can reach millions of customers with the click of a mouse. This text, however, shows how social media can complements the traditional media techniques.
