By Raoul de Keyser
The personal archives of Belgian artist Raoul De Keyser (1930-2012) contains all kinds of images and documents that offer an interesting view on his life, oeuvre, and international network. This publication comprises a small selection of materials from the archives, which the artist's sons donated to Ghent University - an institution where De Keyser had worked as an administrator. Particular attention goes to three striking exhibitions: the solo show Rondom de werkelijkheid (1970), the group exhibition Raoul De Keyser, David Rabinowitch, Philippe Van Snick, Richard Tuttle (1978), and De Keyser's contribution to Documenta IX (1992). In addition, this book focuses on three themes marking De Keyser's oeuvre: the painting as object, the relation between De Keyser's pictorial work and poetry, and the interaction between painting and photography.0.
