The Europeanization of Greece

This book is an original analysis of the integration of Greece into the European Union. It examines the relations between the Greek state and European integration from the 1950s to the 1990s, focusing in particular on the interplay of EC/EU membership and domestic interest politics. The book assesses the impact of membership since Greece joined the Community in 1981 and also examines in depth the issue of prospective membership in Greece before then.

Drawing on policy analysis, on theories of Europeanization and on the comparative politics literature on the crises of political development, the book puts forward a theoretical and empirical interpretation of the major phases in the Europeanization of the Greek state.
