150 years after a nuclear attack destroyed much of the United States, Selah, just turned eighteen, learns that she is a hybrid of two surviving factions and sets out from what was Norfolk, Virginia, to seek the father she never knew, aided by her stepbrother Cleon and Bodhi, a Lander like her father.
