Area X

The Southern Reach trilogy is a Sci-Fi series written by Jeff VanderMeer in 2014. The series follows an event in which an area in the US is taken over by an alien presence that mutates and alters life inside the zone, known as Area X. The series follows multiple individuals as they seek to understand the cause and intent of Area X under the will of the secret government organization The Southern Reach. The series is written in 3 books: Annihilation, Authority, and Acceptance.
