Water treatment for industrial and other uses

My grandfather was a pioneer and trained specialist in water purification and treatment.He was assigned to review the water treatment plans for reconstruction in Europe and Japan after World War II on assignment to the government from Permutit Water Conditioning Co.His groundbreaking book is still the basis for much of the water conditioning/water softening industry.He taught classes at Columbia University in the 1910's-1920's.
