Young adult offenders

This latest volume in the Cambridge Criminal Justice Series focuses upon young adults and their treatment in the criminal justice system. Young adults aged 18-21 are at the peak age for offending, but they have been neglected in comparison with young people under 18; they have few programmes designed especially for them and are increasingly being held in adult prisons rather than Young Offender Institutions. This book brings together leading authorities in the field to analyse both theoretical and policy issues relating to this neglected group of people, exploring different approaches in relation to both the prevention of crime and the treatment of offenders.
